St. Patrick’s Day: Catch Some Cabbage & Make Cabbage Casserole

ST. PATRICK’S DAY: CATCH SOME CABBAGE & MAKE CABBAGE CASSEROLESt. Patrick’s Day weekend is upon us and that means there will be plenty of parades to honor the occasion. St. Patrick’s Day parades tend to turn whole neighborhoods into a sea of green. And, unlike Mardi Gras parades, here you will be able to catch tons of vegetables. A St. Patrick’s Day the signature throw is cabbage. We say, collect as many vegetables as you can and make Mulate’s delicious Cabbage Casserole.

Where You Can Catch Some Cabbage

There are plenty of opportunities to catch these vegetables in the coming days. Here are a few parades you will want to attend: The 2019 Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off at one 1 p.m. on Saturday March 16th. The parade marches from Magazine St., to Jackson Ave., to St. Charles Ave., to Louisiana Ave., to Magazine St., and ending after turning riverbound on Jackson Ave.. Then, on Sunday, head over to Metairie for the Metairie Road St. Patrick’s Day parade which starts at noon. Also, on Sunday, there is the Downtown Irish Club St. Patrick’s Day Parade which will be marching from Bywater, through Marigny and the French Quarter starting at 6p.m.
