Make Some Oysters For Valentine’s Day

Thinking about staying in for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner? Get some candles and decorate the table accordingly and as an entree try Mulate’s Fried Oysters. It’s an easy and quick recipe that will make your better half happy.

What You Need

  • 3 cups cornmeal

  • 2-3 tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper

  • 32 fresh oysters

  • 2-3 cups oil for frying

How It’s Done

fried oyster Po-BoyPlace cornmeal in a 9 X 13 pan. Add salt and cayenne to your taste, and mix well. Put oysters in seasoned cornmeal, 8 to 10 at a time. Coat oysters well. Fry in oil at 375 degrees for 4-5 minutes. Serve with Cocktail Sauce. To make your own Cocktail Sauce mix 2 cups of ketchup, 1 tbsp prepared horseradish and 2 tsp hot sauce.
