There is a lot going on throughout the New Orleans Area for the July 4th holiday weekend, but did you know all of the great FREE events happening on July 3rd that include music, food, and fireworks?

Happy 3rd of July
Join friends, family, and new friends on July 3rd at The Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn in City Park for a Free event filled with Music, Concessions, and of course Fireworks. The annual Happy 3rd of July event promises to be a spectacular show. Join us for the party dressed in your red, white, and blue best! Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy patriotic music from The Marine Corps Band New Orleans on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn and fireworks from the top of the Peristyle. Arrive early for patriotic give-a-ways and a great spot on the lawn. The Marine Corps Band New Orleans will play patriotic music including the 1812 Overture, America the Beautiful, and other favorites. Concessions such as burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, wine, and beer will be available for purchase, or you may bring your own picnic. This year City Park will also be selling snoballs through their new ‘Snoball Concierge Service’ with snoballs made in front of guests while they relax enjoying the music. Click HERE for more details.
Uncle Sam Jam
Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the day’s entertainment at Lafreniere Park in Metairie! Headlining the event is the silken doo-wop quartet The Drifters with Rick Sheppard, whose string of hits, include “Under the Boardwalk,” “Save the Last Dance For Me,” and “This Magic Moment”. The Drifters close out the Sam Jam after the fireworks. Earlier in the evening, Lafayette’s own Ray Boudreaux, who was a contestant on Season 5 of NBC’s The Voice, will sing a soulful set. Louisiana country and Americana band Christian Serpas and Ghost Town, the Metairie-based Top 40 cover band Mixed Nuts, and the patriotically inclined New Orleans Concert Band round out the bill.
