If this sounds to good to be true, all I have to say is sometimes dreams do come true and this weekend your King Cake dreams will come true at the New Orleans King Cake Festival.

e Festival on January 29, 2017 – a celebration benefiting babies and children at Ochsner! Held in Champions Square, join everyone who loves king cake to taste king cakes from the finest bakeries, enjoy live music and support pediatric programs! The music includes: Remedy, Roddie Romero & the Hub City All-Stars, & Flow Tribe. The King Cake Bakeries include: Loretta’s Authentic Pralines, Sweet Savors, Maurice’s French Pastries, Broad Street Baking Company and Café, The Buttermilk Drop, Daddy’s Donuts, Quintin’s Natural Ice Cream & Sorbet , HK Nola, Nonna Randazzo’s Bakery, Mr. Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts, Whole Foods, Pain Frais – Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Caywood and Randazzo Bakery, Cartozzo’s Bakery, Frank’s Supermarket, Mad Batter Bakery, Cocoa Bean Bakery and Café, Cannata’s, Cajun Pecan House, Sugar Love Slidell Bakery, The Kupcake Factory , & Bywater Bakery.
To kick off the King Cake Festival at Champions Square with a family friendly one mile fun run and/or an intense 4.5k rep run to eat all the king cake you want, guilt free! Prizes will be awarded for top finishers and best costumes.
Schedule of events:
- 8:00-10:00am: Registration + Bib/Tshirt Pick Up
- 9:00am: Rep Run begins
- 9:45am: Family Fun Run begins
- 10:00am: King Cake Festival commences!
- 10:30am: Rep Run and Fun Run Awards on Main Stage

Now, after you have finished indulging in all of the wonderful king cakes, finish the day with a fabulous meal at Mulate’s The Original Cajun Restaurant for dinner. There is nothing better than a wonderful day spent sampling king cakes followed by a great dinner with family and friends.
