Have you every heard of them….Barbecued Shrimp?

These shrimp are what dreams are made of. …. Garlic, Mulate’s seasoning, butter, and the coup de gras French Bread for dipping. If you have never had them, stop by Mulate’s and try the best Barbecued Shrimp in town. Now, we all know from the Forest Gump movie that there are a lot of ways to prepare shrimp, but barbecued shrimp is one of the best. Try our Kerry’ Boutte’s famous Barbecued Shrimp recipe.

Ingredients:

4 sticks butter
¼ cup fresh chopped garlic
2 tsp. Mulate’s Cajun Seasoning, or any other season-all
1 ½ lbs. large (16/20 count) fresh shrimp, with the shells on
cup Italian bread crumbs
1 loaf French bread, warmed
Melt butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Add garlic and seasoning, stir frequently to make sure garlic doesn’t brown. Cook for 5 minutes. Add shrimp, cook for about 2 minutes on each side. Add bread crumbs and mix well. Immediately serve shrimp in a bowl with plenty of sauce. Peel and eat shrimp, and use French bread to “sop up” the sauce! Serves 4.

FYI: Shrimp are sized according to how many will come to a pound. For example, 16 to 20 shrimp will come to a pound of 16/20 count. Just remember, the lower the number in the count, the larger the shrimp. Another example is that 40 to 50 shrimp will come to a pound of 40/50 count. These shrimp would be considerably smaller than the 16/20’s we use in this recipe.
