Dirt Gala!
Do you like playing in the Dirt?
Even if you don’t, you still may like to spend a part of Saturday evening at the Press Street Gardens. On Saturday, August 20, from 7pm to 10pm, The NOCCA Institute’s Press Street Gardens invites you to its first-ever Dirt Gala! This fun, casual, outdoor event will raise funds to support the Gardens’ programs for students and faculty at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, as well as the general public. There a lot of fun things going on Saturday evening from meeting goats to Jazz music.
Children can meet goats and chickens and friends and neighbors can give a try at old-school lawn games. There will be great jazz and funk music by DJ Ruby and lots of cool treats to eat all from the Press Street Station. Dress code is summer chic. (That includes anything you might wear to Filthy Linen night, a couple of blocks away on St. Claude Avenue.) Kiddie pools will be available for children, adults, and pets, so water-friendly attire is totally encouraged!
Press Street Gardens is located at 7 Press Street, at the corner of Dauphine, where the historic Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods meet. Admission to the Dirt Gala is free.
Stop into Mulate’s Restaurant for a bite to eat and maybe a refreshing drink and then head on over to the Dirt Gala for a new type of fun for the entire family.
