Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Give our Broccoli-Cheese Casserole a try. Thanksgiving is almost here and that means you will either be hosting or attending a meal with friends and family. Right now is the time to start planning what side dishes you plan on making for you loved ones. This will help mitigate some of the Holiday stress you might starting to feel. If you want to make something special this year that adds some Cajun flavor to Thanksgiving, we might have just the side dish for you: Broccoli-Cheese Casserole.

What You Need

  • 4 lb. fresh broccoli florets

  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter

  • 1 cup diced onions

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 16 oz. processed cheese, cubed

  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

  • 21 oz. canned cream of mushroom soup

  • 16 oz. canned mushrooms

  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 15 butter crackers, crumbled, for topping

How It’s Done

Broccoli CheeseThis Broccoli-Cheese Casserole is easy to make and will have everybody asking for more. Preheat your oven to 350 degree. Butter a 9X13 baking dish. Blanch the broccoli for your Broccoli-Cheese Casserole in a pot of boiling water for 5-7 minutes, then drain and transfer to a large bowl. In a medium sauce pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and saute 3-5 minutes, or until soft. Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Now put the cheese into your Broccoli-Cheese Casserole! Add processed cheese and cayenne and stir until melted. Mix in soup and mushrooms, stirring until combined. Pour creamy sauce over broccoli and toss to coat. Pour into prepared baking dish and top with shredded Cheddar and cracker crumbs. Bake for 20-30 minute, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. This Broccoli-Cheese Casserole dish serves about 10 people.
