Tennessee Williams’ Baby Doll
The regional premiere Baby Doll is based on Tennessee Williams’ one-act play 27 Wagons Full of Cotton and the controversial 1956 film. Set in the sweltering summer heat of 1950s Mississippi, this dark comedy is a game of cat and mouse that explores the desires, desperation, and prejudices of two rival cotton gin owners and their attempts to seduce a young bride called Baby Doll after a suspected act of arson.
