WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR DIRTY LINEN CLOTHES?
Wear them to Dirty Linen Night, of course. This is one of New Orleans locals most unique “recycling” events that happens in the famous New Orleans French Quarter the weekend after White Linen Night.
HOW DID DIRTY LINEN NIGHT BEGIN?
The Tourist Industry gets a little slower during the hot summer month of August, plus many locals do not come out as much to avoid the heat too. So, fifteen (15) years ago, a couple of galleries on Royal Street decided of a glass or two of wine, that it would be fun to “ride the coattails” of White Linen Night with Dirty Linen Night. Something that started as almost a joke between friends, turned into a huge success that takes over eight blocks of Royal Street.
WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?
Dirty Linen Night takes place on Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 6-9pm from the 200 – 800 blocks of Royal Street. Every gallery and shop participates in the event in its own unique way. Some stores have different treats to eatSave and others create speciality cocktails. But, what makes this event so much fun, is that you can enjoy a lovely stroll in the cooler summer evening while sipping a glass of wine with friends. Also, the event if FREE.
COME OUT TO MULATE’S FOR CAJUN DANCING
After you have enjoyed your Dirty Linen Night stroll, come on over to Mulate’s and join us for dinner and dancing. This Saturday, from 7:00-10pm, we have a great Cajun Band called Bayou Deville performing on the Mulate’s stage. Bayou Deville plays music for dancing; music with strong roots; music infused with joy; music that is part of a living, breathing tradition. We hope to see you on the dance floor learning a little bit of Cajun Dancing.
