The Mulate’s team likes to take the opportunity to cook and desserts are a definitely  a favorite. With So many to choose from….

Chocolate Praline Sheet Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sifted flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 sticks butter

  • 1 cup water

  • 4 tbsp. cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/2 cup half-and-half

  • 2 eggs, beaten

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour and sugar. In a small saucepot, bring butter, water, and cocoa to a boil and pour into flour mixture. Add vanilla, soda and half-and-half – mix well. Add eggs and mix well. Pour into nonstick 9 x 13 baking pan. Bake for 45 minutes.

Chocolate Pecan Fudge Icing

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 stick butter

  • 3 tbsp. cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup half-and-half

  • 3/4 box confectioners’ sugar

  • 1 cup pecans

Directions:

In a medium saucepot, over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add cocoa and half-and-half. Cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and add confectioners’ sugar and pecans – mix well. Spread over cake while both are still hot.
