If you thought that the parades were all over in the New Orleans Metro Area, let me tell you about some more great parades happening this weekend all surrounding St. Patrick’s Day.
Do you like the color green?
This weekend is all about green: green clothing, cabbage, green flowers, green kisses….because it is all about St. Patrick’s Day. There are two big St. Patrick’s Day celebrations coming up… one on Saturday and one Sunday.
Saturday Parade
The Annual Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set to be a huge and will roll Saturday, March 11 at 1:30pm down Magazine Street! Enjoy this truly essential New Orleans St. Patrick’s Day experience and catch throws which include flowers, beads, cabbage, and much more! What is special about this uptown parade is that it has all of the parade fun without as many people compared to Mardi Gras.
Sunday Parade
This Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade rolls down Metairie Road on Sunday, March 12, 2017, starting at noon. It starts in front of Rummel High School on Severn Avenue, goes down Severn to Metairie Road, then Metairie Road to the parish line. This is a wonderful family affair with house parties, kids throwing the ball in the street, and just a lot of fun. So, find your best Irish Green shirt, and come on out for a day full of beads, cabbage, carrots, toys, and maybe some potatoes too.
So, the question is…will you be wearing green for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade or will you take a chance at getting pinched?
After your fun afternoons at the parades, stop by Mulate’s for some more fun with great Cajun Music and Fantastic Cajun Food.
