The High Priestess of Dark Alley
The theater can be a lot of fun in New Orleans. New Orleans’ most historic playhouse, Le Petit Théâtre Du Vieux Carré, has played an important role in our nation’s theatrical history since 1916. Located just off of Jackson Square, where the current stage is located at 616 St. Peter Street home since 1922.
This is the last weekend to enjoy The High Priestess of Dark Alley at Le Petit. It is a production about Two sisters, one robbed of her sexuality, the other defined by it as they do battle with their domineering mother over the men they love. It is written and directed by Jackie Alexander, the author who brought “Brothers From the Bottom” (Wendell Pierce) to New Orleans last year. Performances 7:30 PM Thursday – Saturday evenings, with 3 PM matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Run time is approximately 135 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission.
